Who Are These People?
Firana and Lubel aka Megan and Chad are a married couple who play World of Warcraft together. They're probably one of the nerdiest couples you will ever meet. Seriously. These people had a Justice League themed wedding, and cut the wedding cake with a broadsword. They do end-game raiding with their guild, Servants of Drake. That is, when they aren't living up to their guild name and taking care of their son, Drake.
Chad has 80s in just about every class. Megan has a few 80s, but isn't QUITE as much of an alt-addict as Chad is. At one point, they were discussing their plans for Dragon*Con, and things they'd like to see there. One of those was a panel about the story of the world of Azeroth, up to present. After all, a large population of WoW players never played any of the other games, nor did they read the books or the comics. Megan found the best way for Chad to contact Grim, the almighty leader of Dragon*Con's MMO Track, and Grim thought it was a great idea, and told Chad to get cracking on it. O_O
For the next three months, Chad and Megan lived and breathed Power Point, and spent all of their time scouring the WoW Wiki, painstakingly sorting information into some semblance of a timeline.
Then they found out that they only had an hour for the panel.
Lots of chopping occurred, and frantic rehearsals, until Sunday of the convention finally arrived. The panel was a roaring success! Grim invited them back next year as staff, so the work has already begun!
If you happen to find the Servants of Drake, you'll notice that Firana is often AFK. Probably means she has her nose in a Richard Knaak book, studying for next year!
